Summer at Providence

Published on July 2nd, 2013

HELLO SUMMER! It’s time for family fun in the sun. There’s plenty of great activities and destinations in and around Providence that will keep your family smiling all season long.

Start your summer off with a BANG as Providence hosts Stars, Stripes, & Sparks – the community’s annual July 4th Celebration with food, fun and fireworks. Beginning at 6 p.m., the free event culminates with fireworks by Pyrotecnico around  9:15 p.m. The site’s Knickerbocker Park setting overlooks the entire city and provides spectacular views. It is located at 10695 Dorrell Lane, north of the North 215 Beltway and Hualapai Way exit. It features contests for all ages, food vendors, park activities and entertainment by the popular Tony Marques Band.

It’s easy to get out and play the day away at KnockerbockerPark. At this 15-acre park, you’ll find a swing set, splash pad, youth baseball field, multi-use events field, jogging path with exercise stations and picnic areas. Your pooches can play too! Our pet friendly community is completed with a dog park that welcomes large and small breeds.

Want to escape into adventure without going too far from home? Tule Springs is located just a short distance from our community. The site is home to thousands of fossils of Ice Age mammoths, bison,  American lions, camelops , and super-sized sloths, and beautiful views of the natural desert wash. It’s a wonderful area for a hike and taking in our area’s rich history.
